Class schedule: I enrolled in the March-April 6 week Phlebotomy program, MWF 10am-1pm, there are evening class available too. Instructor: Our instructor was Jess. She was super awesome and helpful. She was able to answer any/all questions we had and guided us through all our procedures. Class size: My class had 7 students. Since it was a small class, everyone got really close and were able to build trust within each other, which made class really enjoyable. We were also able to get individual help not only from Jess, but also from the interns (previous students) that would come in and give us extra pointers with our sticks. Sticks: If you are squeamish about blood or have a fear of needles, then this class is probably not for you. Although, majority of us had concerns about getting poked, we all understood that it's a learning process and Jess was an incredible instructor, she was very hands on and even offered to be practiced on. A few of us had difficult veins so it helped with learning the different techniques of finding veins. Exams: Had an exam everyday starting from day 2, but they were all fairly easy. Lots to memorize but the knowledges builds upon each other. The program prepares you specifically for the National Healthcare Association (NHA) certificate exam. Parking: Most of us parked by Burger King. We would move our cars during break, though, since its a 2 hour parking limit. Overall, I feel confident about the information and skills I've acquired and will miss the people I've met in this class.

My experience in the Phlebotomy Technician Program at HMTC was absolutely wonderful. The designated days and time of classes worked great with my college and work schedule. The material seems a little over-whelming at first, but the instructor (Jess) does a great job at breaking it down, concept by concept, so that you'll have an easier and smoother understanding. The class setting is small, which is great for working closely with your instructor and getting to know your classmates. I feel confident in what I have learned and, I plan to move forward in the phlebotomy field. I absolutely have no regrets enrolling. THANKS HMTC=)!!!

Hi everyone! I completed my Phlebotomy course for the July 25 session. Overall, this course was an amazing experience. It is a very hands on setting, which you think would be very nerve-racking when it's your first time sticking people with needles. However, it is actually a very comfortable setting where you know you are in good hands. Jess is a great teacher (and hilarious!) and she makes sure that everyone understands the lectures. Each teacher makes sure that each student is properly and carefully doing the procedures. I am interning right now and I really miss having class! I have NO REGRETS choosing HMTC!
